Whether you are struggling with anxiety, grief, depression, trauma, addiction, or any other issue, I will help you come to understand underlying issues, fully realize your strengths, and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way. I realize that no two people are the same and solutions for each persons journey will naturally vary. Therefore I tailor my therapy to meet the specific needs of my clients.
I seek clients who desire a collaborative counseling alliance with a therapist who is genuine and willing to be immersed in their world. I am trained in using Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which have been shown to be very effective with individuals suffering with trauma, depression, substance abuse, and anxiety. I like to foster an environment where clients feel safe to discover the underlying reasons for their mental health issues (trauma, depression, anxiety, substance abuse), and to learn new coping skills that are based upon proven evidenced-based treatment techniques. By leveraging the power of the therapeutic alliance, I believe the client and I can explore their personal strengths, spiritual beliefs, and relationships, and grow to become capable of overcoming or enduring suffering.
I am a fully licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida (MH16067). I am also a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP), a Masters-level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC).
I am a Christian, with Christian-oriented values. I believe I am very skilled at building a counseling alliance with all my client’s that is helpful and conducive to meeting their goals for seeking counseling.
Finally, I am a retired military veteran personally familiar with issues unique to military veterans and their families. I have extensive experience with substance abuse treatment, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and stress.
